Alphabet Stencil Orders

Depending on the type of material you choose, your Alphabet Stencil Sets will look a little different:

The image below shows what a set of Alphabet stencils made from Standard 10mil. Material looks like. There is no backing and each Character is cut out seperately. These sets are mailed out in Envelopes. To help keep the set in order I usually tape a few stacks of letters to gether with masking tape.

Alphabet Stencils made from Clear Cut 7mil. Material (not shown) are cut and packaged the same way.

The next image shows what a set of Alphabet Stencils made from Adhesive Backed 8.5mil. Material. Because the backing of these stencils is a little sticky (like Post-It Notes), I leave them attached to the board backing. They will usually come in a strip that has 3-6 letters. I do this to help make the size more suitable for shipping

For all our Alphabet Stencils we've created a custom puzzle like design that helps make aligning the letters really eazy. The groves in the stencil identify the base-line and top-line of the Letters. If you don't like this, simply cut them off with a pair of scissors. If you want a whole set without them, visit the Custom Stencil Order page and follow the instructions for ordering a custom-sized stencil.

Determining the size of an Alphabet Stencil

Alphabet Stencils can come in sizes of 1" up to 18". These sizes denote the height of the cut out stencil. The height is determined by the length of the Capital letter "A" from the baseline of the letter to the top of the character. The lower-case letters are in many cases 1/2 the height of their upper-case counterparts. The sizes of the lower-case letters are determined by the font of the text and are kept to the scale that's appropriate for that Alphabet.

The images below show how different fonts are measured.

This image below shows how the upper-case and lower case letters will differ in size.
